Nathan Yocum
Writer
Nathan has always loved film, but didn't actually get into film-making until he agreed to write and act in Catbrain's first short, Meet the Cokas after being asked by former roommate Paul Hoeprich.
As a writer Nathan's inspirations include Kurt Vonnegut, Cormac McCarthy, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Charles Bukowski, but admits that the list goes on and on. As far as cinema is concerned Nate is a huge fan of Martin Scorcsese, Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, or anyone else who creates film with a distinct and compelling voice.
Nathan lives in Hilo, Hawaii and enjoys the fact that as a writer he can work with Catbrain even though he lives 3000 miles away. Because of his distance from Arizona, the only time Nathan was actually on set was for Meet the Cokas, but he fondly remembers being up for two days, exhausted and irritated, and then suddenly having a beautiful, funny short film. Nathan recounts: "It was kind of like magic."
